Human Space Flight
The exploration of Space through manned and
robotic programmes is a fundamentally inspirational and
scientifically challenging activity. Over the past decade, Europe
has been gaining expertise in human spaceflight. With the advent of
the International Space Station (ISS) and the European Space Agency
(ESA) Aurora programme targeting Mars, Europe has firmly marked its
intention to participate in these missions.
VEGA is engaged in several aspects of the ISS
programme including astronaut and ground personnel training, as
well as the integration and validation of the European ground
segment.
