Working with Inmarsat

VEGA has undertaken complete management and delivery of stand-alone software projects for satellite and telecom operator Inmarsat.

Inmarsat selected VEGA because of our experience in implementing software for satellite control and payload communication networks. Our activities have ranged from software specification, engineering and management, through to core skills such as object-oriented design, real-time multi-threaded C and Java software implementation, telecommunications and internet protocols, SNMP and CORBA interfaces, and Oracle databases.

VEGA’s support enabled Inmarsat to realise its project improvement goals, in areas as diverse as global maritime safety messaging (to alert shipping to weather and other hazards) and control centre software enhancement for new generations of satellites.
