International Astronautical Congress 2010

27 September - 1 October 2010, Prague Congress Centre, Czech Republic

The International Astronautical Congress is designed to help to increase general awareness about Space-related capacities and plans of countries in Europe, while also motivating and stimulating activity around new Space generation. The theme for the 2010 event will be 'Space for Human benefit and exploration', to which VEGA will be delivering a number of papers throughout this conference. On one hand, the theme reflects the permanent importance of practical applications of Space for everyday life forcing many new countries to form and develop their own Space programmes. On the other, it considers mankind’s next grand challenge – Space exploration.

The International Astronautical Congress also provides another opportunity for representatives from political, industrial and scientific sectors, together with members of the general public, to shape the future direction of Space exploration. As the ambitions of Space nations are becoming apparent, countries are focusing on how their own Space exploration plans might integrate with global Space endeavours and how might collaborate with other nations to develop a truly global Space exploration strategy.

In addition to contributing papers to the congress, VEGA will be exhibiting at this event (stand number to be confirmed). To meet any of the VEGA staff, or to find out more about our involvement with the 2010 International Astronautical Congress, please email events@vegaspace.co.uk.
