VEGA is involved in many aspects of current and future Earth
Observation projects, ranging from individual instrument design to
ground segment data processing, to the planning and operation of
European and Far East meteorological and Earth Observation
satellite systems.
Earth Observation (EO) programmes generate information that has
become increasingly essential for making decisions, defining
policies, and implementing management strategies to ensure mankind
has a sustainable future on Earth. This includes measurement of
climate, weather patterns, population growth, security,
development, biological and geological variation.
